Secret Magical Garden in London

London is full of interesting and iconic places. Whoever comes to visit London probably will visit places like the London Eye, Buckingham Palace (and Hyde Park generally), St Pauls an

d etc.
However, I prefer quieter and hidden away places. It can be a result of living in London for a few years now, and I do enjoy more unusual places then typical tourist spots.
One of my favourite places is located in the centrum of London. Close to busy city life, about 15 minutes by walk from London Bridge, you can find a secret garden of St Dunstan in the East.
So how is it possible, to be a "secret garden"? Well, when you pass it, you see the ruins of the old church. When I ware there the first time, I was not sure if you can enter it as I thought that you might need to purchase a ticket. But good news! You can enter it for free! More reason to visit it.
A bit of the history.
So what it was, before becoming a hidden garden in London? It used to be a church build during Saxons times. In 950 AD it was restored by St Dunstan, and that's how it got a new name. In 1666, during the Great Fire of London, it was badly damaged and was not restored till 1697. Unfortunately, it was destroyed again during the Blitz of London and in 1970 the council decided to transform ruins into a public garden.

My thoughts
I can't believe that I did not know about this place before, as now is one of my favourite spots in London. I was like "how I could not know it!?" but then my husband admitted that he did not know about its existence as well, which shocked me even more as he lives here for over 30 years XD.
I love how quiet this place is in the morning and how beautiful sunlight kisses it thru its window. If you look for a perfect spot to read a book, meditate or have a chill, you need to go there. If you want the usual places for photos you must go there!
It is open daily from 8 am till 5:30 pm, and it is the busiest during mid of the day, so plan your visit beforehand!
