... and neon to be more precise. Anyone know London landmarks. Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Shard etc. London is famous for its colourful cafes, posh streets and 1st zone's Instagram picture worthy places. So when someone will tell you that there is a hidden gem in East London you will think that someone is joking with you. You can't be more wrong than that as Walthamstow's Gods Own Junkyard is this hidden gem!

Neon and pink heaven are in a real funky art store where you can have a warm cup of coffee.

Whilst on our visit there, we got confused from the very beginning. Whist following the Google maps on our phone, we ended in the factory lot with many little factories at premises. We weren't sure if we actually can go inside or if we ended in the wrong place. Luckily we took a risk and went inside, and around the corner was Gods Own Junkyard.

I had with me my camera, but at the entrance, the welcome sign says photos are allowed but only with phone. So my chunky canon ended in my bag. Unusually, all photos in this post were made by Samsung S10 phone camera. And here we have another proof that you do not need a fancy camera to create content.

I loved all shades of pink and neon blue inside. Some of the neon lights ware imaginative and I would love to have some of this art in my apartment. You can buy some of them, but at this moment they are out of my budget so instead of owning them I did enjoy photographing them.

You can find this fantastic place at this address:

London

E17 9HQods Own Junkyard

Unit 12 Ravenswood Ind Estate

Shernhall Street

London

E17 9HQ

They are open to the public three days a week: Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I would suggest going there before they open. You will be probably by yourself there. Especially if you want some photos but if you are shy as me while posing in front of everyone. ;)

So next time when you are in London, explore! Do not need to stay within first zone of the city. There is lots of hidden treasures around!
